Japanese Mushroom Pilaf
A hearty and flavorful Japanese-inspired pilaf dish featuring sautéed mushrooms and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup mushroomany combination of mushrooms works well
- ●1 cup pilafJapanese-style pilaf or regular pilaf works
- ●2 tablespoons dutchdutch oven or large skillet
- ●2 tablespoons kissed golden oilor any neutral oil with a high smoke point
- ●2 tablespoons soy sauceoptional
- ●1 cup green onionsfor garnish
- ●1 tablespoon sesame seedsfor garnish
- ●to taste saltoptional
- ●to taste pepperoptional

1. Heat the kissed golden oil in the dutch over medium-high heat.

2. Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the pilaf and stir to combine with the mushrooms.

4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the pilaf is lightly toasted.

5. Add the soy sauce (if using) and stir to combine.

6. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed with salt and pepper.
