Crispy Uruguayan-Style Empanadas with Aromatic Fillings
A Japanese twist on traditional Uruguayan empanadas, with crispy fried pastry and aromatic fillings.
Ingredients
- β2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup Water
- β1/4 cup Vegetable oilfor frying
- β2 tablespoons Aromatic soy sauce
- β1 cup Grated daikonfor filling
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seedsfor topping

Combine flour and water in a bowl to make the dough. Knead for 5 minutes.

Rest the dough for 30 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

Flatten each ball into a disk. Place a tablespoon of daikon filling in the center of each disk.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal the empanada.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the empanadas until golden brown.
