Vegetable Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic Indian rice dish made with a mix of vegetables and spices. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Basmati rice
- β1 medium Carrotpeeled and chopped
- β1 cup Green beanstrimmed and chopped
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β1 medium Tomatochopped
- β2 tsp Ginger paste
- β1 tsp Cumin powder
- β1 tsp Coriander powder
- β1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- β1/2 tsp Red chili powder
- βto taste Salt
- β2 tbsp Oil
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add chopped onion, ginger paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Cook until the onion is lightly browned.

Add chopped carrot, green beans, and tomato. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add salt to taste and mix well.

Add basmati rice to the pan and mix well.

Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the rice is lightly toasted.

Transfer the mixture to a pot and add 2 cups of water.

Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.

Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.

Fluff the biryani with a fork and serve hot.
