Uruguayan Beef Empanadas (Keto)
A keto twist on a classic Uruguayan dish, these empanadas are filled with tender beef and perfect for a low-carb diet.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio for best flavor
- β1 package (makes 12 empanadas) Unctuous Empanada Dough MixMake sure to follow the instructions on the package for the best results
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper
- β1 medium OnionDiced
- β2 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1 large EggFor egg wash
- β2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Season the beef mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

Follow the instructions on the empanada dough mix to make the dough.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Use a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out circles of dough.

Place a tablespoon or two of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough in half over the filling and press the edges together to seal the empanada.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
