Uruguayan Beef Empanadas with Indian Twist
A fusion of Uruguayan empanadas with the flavors of India, featuring tender beef and spices.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Ground Beef
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 tsp Garam Masala
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Turmeric
- βto taste Salt
- β1 package Unctuous Empanada Dough
- βoptional Uruguayan Chorizo

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces.

Add the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and salt. Cook for 1 minute.

Roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture onto one half of the dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.

Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

If using chorizo, cook it in a pan over medium heat until crispy, then chop into small pieces and add to the empanadas.
