Uruguayan Beef Empanadas in Chinese Style
A fusion twist on the classic Uruguayan empanada, with a Chinese-inspired twist on the filling and a crispy pastry crust.

- β2 tablespoons Unctuous Chinese BBQ Sauce
- β1 package Uruguayan Beef Empanada Dough
- β1/4 cup Scallions
- β1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- β1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- β1/2 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β2 tablespoons Cornstarch

1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat.

3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

5. Stir in the cornstarch and cook for 1 minute.

6. Add the Chinese BBQ sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.

7. Roll out the empanada dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

8. Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

9. Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each circle of dough.

10. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-circle shape and press the edges together to seal.
