Traditional British Nectarine Crumble
A classic dessert recipe featuring juicy nectarines topped with a crunchy oat and butter crumble. Perfect for warm weather and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- β6-8 nectarines(any variety, sliced)
- β1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup granulated sugar
- β1/2 cup cold unsalted butter(cut into small pieces)
- β1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- β1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- 2
In a large bowl, combine sliced nectarines, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the fruit to release its juice.
- 3
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of sugar. Add in cold butter and use your fingers or a pastry blender to work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add in oats and stir until they're evenly distributed throughout the crumb mixture.
- 5
Transfer the nectarine mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish. Top with the crumb mixture, spreading it out evenly.
- 6
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is tender and bubbly.
- 7
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
