Tunisian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African-inspired stew made with chicken, vegetables, and spices. Perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds Chicken thighs
- β1 cup Crispy onions
- β2 medium Carrots
- β2 medium Potatoes
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Tunisian spice blend
- β1 teaspoon Cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions

Heat oil in a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add onions and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add carrots, potatoes, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add Tunisian spice blend and stir to combine.

Add 1 cup of water to the tagine and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
