Chinese-Style Tofu Tagine
A fusion dish blending Chinese and North African flavors, using tofu and tagine spices in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- β250g Tofu
- β1 tsp Algerian tagine spice blend
- β2 tbsp Acrid rice vinegar
- β2 tbsp Soy sauce
- β1-inch piece Ginger
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1/4 cup Scallions

1. Press and drain the tofu, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and Algerian tagine spice blend.

3. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.

4. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

5. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.

6. Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

7. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

9. Pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar mixture, and bring to a simmer.
