Filipino-Style Beef Dumplings
A twist on traditional Chinese dumplings, this Filipino version features a flavorful beef and vegetable filling wrapped in a tender dough and served with a side of olive oil.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium Onionfinely chopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 package Pancit noodles Filipino-style noodles
- β20-24 wrappers Dumpling wrappersavailable at most Asian markets
- β2 tablespoons Olive oilfor pan-frying
- βto taste Saltfor seasoning
- βto taste Black pepperfor seasoning

1. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.

2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook until the onion is translucent.

4. Stir in the pancit noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes.

5. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste.

6. Lay a dumpling wrapper on a flat surface and place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of the wrapper.

7. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edge of the wrapper.

8. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

9. Press the edges together to seal the dumpling.

10. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

11. In a large pot or steamer, bring 2-3 inches of water to a boil.

12. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket and cover the pot with a lid.

13. Steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
