Harees with Wheat and Middle Eastern Spices
A traditional Middle Eastern dish made with wheat, meat, and spices, cooked in a slow-cooked broth. Serve warm and enjoy.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Harees
- β1 cup Wheat
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 tablespoons Ghee
- β1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- β1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- β1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
- βto taste Salt
Instructions

Heat the ghee in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add the chopped onion and cook until it's translucent.

Add the wheat and harees to the pot and mix well.

Add 4 cups of water to the pot and bring it to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1 hour or until the wheat is cooked.

Add the coriander powder, cardamom powder, and salt to the pot and mix well.

Cook for another 10 minutes and serve warm.

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro, if desired.
