Spicy Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African-inspired stew made with chicken, spices, and dried fruits.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1 teaspoon coriander
- β1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- β2 tablespoons tagine spice blend
- β1 cup dried apricotschopped
- β2 cups chicken broth

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown chicken on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger to pot and cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, and tagine spice blend to pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken broth, dried apricots, and browned chicken to pot.

Cover pot and transfer to preheated oven.

Bake for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
