German Paella with Shrimp
A German twist on the classic Spanish dish, featuring succulent prawns and a medley of flavors.
Ingredients
- β1/2 teaspoon Saffron threads
- β1 cup Sweet Spanish rice
- β1 pound Mexican prawns
- β1/2 pound German sausage
- β1 large Red bell pepper
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- β1 cup White wine
- β2 cups Chicken broth
- β1/4 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large paella pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the German sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Add the sliced red bell pepper to the pan and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the prawns to the pan and cook until pink and fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Add the saffron threads, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the pan and stir to combine.

Add the sweet Spanish rice to the pan and stir to combine with the other ingredients.

Add the white wine to the pan and cook until the liquid is almost completely absorbed, stirring occasionally.

Add the chicken broth to the pan and bring to a simmer.

Return the cooked sausage to the pan and stir to combine.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is tender.
