Traditional Greek Spanakopita
A classic Greek savory pie filled with spinach, feta cheese, and herbs, wrapped in flaky phyllo dough.
Ingredients
- β1 package (typically 24-30 sheets) phyllo dough
- β1 package (10 oz) frozen, thawed and drained spinach
- β1 cup crumbled feta cheesepreferably Greek
- β1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- β1/4 cup chopped green onions
- β2 cloves minced garlic
- β2 large eggs
- βto taste black pepper

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Thaw phyllo dough according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat.

Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in feta cheese, parmesan cheese, and green onions.

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and black pepper.

Layer phyllo dough in a baking dish, brushing each layer with butter.
