Uruguayan Cheese Empanadas
A twist on traditional empanadas with a Uruguayan touch, featuring melted cheese and a crispy exterior.
Ingredients
- β12-14 wrappers Wonton Wrappers
- β1 cup Shredded Cheese
- β1/2 pound Beef
- β1/2 cup Onion
- β1 Egg
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

Preheat the wok to medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the shredded cheese and stir until melted and well combined.

In a separate pan, scramble the egg and set aside.

Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface and place a tablespoon of the beef and cheese mixture in the center.

Brush the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal.

Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Heat a wok or large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil to coat the bottom.

Add the empanadas and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
