Russian Bread Casserole
A hearty, comforting dish featuring layers of bread and Russian-style ingredients. This casserole is perfect for a cold winter evening.
Ingredients
- ●2 loaves, cut into 1-inch cubes old fashion bread
- ●1 large, chopped crunchy onion
- ●1 lb, sliced russian sausage
- ●1 cup, shredded white cheddar cheese
- ●2 cups beef broth
- ●1 cup sour cream
- ●1 tsp dried parsley
- ●1 tsp salt
- ●1/2 tsp black pepper

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, cook the sliced Russian sausage over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes.

In a separate skillet, sauté the chopped onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes, cooked sausage, sautéed onion, shredded cheese, beef broth, sour cream, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.
