Keto Birria Beef Tacos
A twist on traditional Mexican birria, this keto version replaces traditional tortillas with tender beef and serves it with a tangy sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Beef, birria cutCut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 tbsp Jubilant, tenderOptional, for added flavor
- β1 tsp Mexican oreganoDried
- β1 tsp Garlic powderDried
- β1 tsp CuminGround
- β1 tsp Chili powderDried
- β1 tsp SaltTo taste
- β1 tsp Black pepperTo taste
- β2 tbsp Lard or beef fatFor browning the beef

1. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

2. Heat the lard or beef fat in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the beef on all sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from heat and set aside.

3. Add the Mexican oregano to the pot and toast for 1 minute, until fragrant.

4. Add 2 cups of beef broth to the pot and bring to a simmer.

5. Return the beef to the pot and let it cook until it's tender, about 2-3 hours.

6. Shred the beef with two forks and return it to the pot. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
