Keto Intensely Flavored Syrian Lamb Tagine
A hearty, keto-friendly tagine recipe from Syria, flavored with intense spices and served with a side of cauliflower rice.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Lamb shoulder, bone-in
- β2 tablespoons Intensely flavored olive oil
- β1 medium Onion, chopped
- β3 cloves Garlic, minced
- β2 teaspoons Cumin, ground
- β1 teaspoon Coriander, ground
- β1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1 cup Dried apricots
- β1/2 cup Almonds, sliced

1. Heat the intensely flavored olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

2. Sear the lamb shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

3. Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

4. Reduce heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the pot.

5. Cook the onion until softened, about 5 minutes.

6. Add the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the pot.

7. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

8. Add the dried apricots and sliced almonds to the pot.

9. Return the lamb to the pot and cover with a lid.

10. Transfer the pot to the oven and cook at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 1/2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.

11. Serve the lamb with the sauce spooned over the top, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
