German Beef Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Ukraine, adapted with a German twist.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef Stew Meat
- β4 medium Carrots
- β2 large Potatoes
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- β2 cups Beef Broth
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β1 pound Ukrainian Sausage (such as Kielbasa)
Instructions

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef on all sides, then remove from pot and set aside.

Add the sliced onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the sliced carrots and potatoes, cooking for 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth, tomato paste, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.

Return the browned beef to the pot, cover, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, or until the meat is tender.

Add the Ukrainian sausage to the pot and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
