German Breakfast Strata
A layered German breakfast dish made with eggs, bread, and spicy ingredients. Perfect for a weekend brunch.
Ingredients
- β4 large Eggsat room temperature
- β1 loaf of German bread, cut into 1-inch cubes Bread
- β6 slices Spicy sausagesuch as bratwurst or knockwurst
- β1 medium, diced Onion
- β1 medium, diced Bell pepper
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
- β1/2 cup Grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the spicy sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and black pepper.

Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss to coat with the egg mixture.

Add the cooked sausage and vegetable mixture to the bowl and stir to combine.
