Classic American Chicken Casserole
A comforting and satisfying casserole filled with juicy chicken, creamy sauce, and a crunchy topping. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighsCut into 1-inch pieces
- βchopped 1 medium onion
- βminced 2 cloves garlic
- β 1 cup cream of chicken soup
- β 1/2 cup milk
- β 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- β 1/2 cup crushed crackersFor topping
- β 2 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Set aside.

In the same skillet, cook the onion and garlic until softened. Add the cream of chicken soup and stir until combined.

Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and stir until coated with the soup mixture.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk and shredded cheese. Stir until smooth.

Add the cheese mixture to the skillet with the chicken and soup mixture. Stir until combined.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the crushed crackers over the top of the casserole.
