Saudi Arabian Lamb Tagine
A traditional Saudi Arabian dish made with tender lamb, aromatic spices, and silky saffron. This flavorful tagine is perfect for a special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds lamb shoulder
- β2 tablespoons aromatic spices (cumin, coriander, cinnamon)
- β1/2 teaspoon silky saffron threadssoaked in 1 tablespoon hot water
- β2 cups arabian coffeestrong brew
- β2 tablespoons date syrup
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon salt

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add lamb and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add aromatic spices, date syrup, and coffee. Stir to combine.

Add saffron and its soaking liquid. Stir to combine.

Cover the pot and transfer to the oven. Cook at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 hours, or until lamb is tender.
