Slovakian Millet Pilaf
A hearty and flavorful pilaf dish originating from Slovakia, made with millet and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 cup millet
- β2 tsp slovakian pilaf spice blend
- β2 tbsp olive oil
- β1 medium, diced onion
- β1 medium, peeled and grated carrot
- β2 stalks, diced celery
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the diced onion, grated carrot, and diced celery, and cook until the vegetables are tender.

Add the millet and pilaf spice blend to the skillet, and stir to combine.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the millet is lightly toasted.

Add 2 cups of water to the skillet, and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the millet is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
