Japanese Chicken Jjim
A traditional Japanese-inspired dish featuring marinated chicken and steamed dumplings. Perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β500g chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 onionsthinly sliced
- β12 dumplings
- β2 tbsp soy sauce
- β1 tbsp sugar
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tbsp rice vinegar
- β1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, ginger, garlic, and rice vinegar. Add the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

3. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

4. Add the steamed dumplings to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

5. Serve the chicken and dumplings hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

6. Steam the dumplings according to package instructions and set aside.

7. Cook the chicken to an internal temperature of 165Β°F (74Β°C).
