Ukrainian Beef Pilaf
A hearty and flavorful pilaf dish from Ukraine, made with tender beef and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beefcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 cup pilafuncooked
- β1 medium yellowish onionchopped
- β2 tablespoons light vegetable oilfor cooking
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1 teaspoon paprika
- β1 teaspoon dried thyme

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the pilaf to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

Add the beef back to the skillet and stir to combine with the pilaf mixture.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the pilaf is tender.
