Lamb Biryani
A flavorful Indian dish made with lamb and aromatic spices, served over a bed of fluffy basmati rice.
Ingredients
- β500g LambBoneless lamb shoulder or leg
- β2 cups Xtra Basmati RiceUncooked
- β2 tbsp Fluffy GheeClarified butter
- β2 medium Saudi OnionsChopped
- β1 tsp Arabian Cumin PowderGround
- β1 tsp Biryani SpicesA blend of spices

Heat the ghee in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.

Add the lamb and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the cumin powder and biryani spices. Cook for 1 minute.

Add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the lamb is cooked.

Rinse the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Drain the water and cook the rice in a separate saucepan with 2 cups of water.

Once the rice is cooked, stir in the biryani spices.

To assemble the biryani, place a layer of cooked lamb at the bottom of a large saucepan.

Add a layer of cooked rice on top of the lamb.

Repeat the layers one more time, finishing with a layer of rice on top.

Cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid and cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
