Warm Canadian Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole inspired by Canadian flavors. This dish is perfect for a chilly evening.

- β1 lb Ground Beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium, chopped Onion
- β1 large, sliced Casserole Pepper
- β4 cups, cubed Warm Bread
- β2 cups, shredded Canadian Cheddar Cheese
- β1 cup Bechamel Saucesee instructions for preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. Cook the ground beef in a pan over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

3. Add chopped onion and sliced pepper to the pan and cook until the vegetables are soft.

4. In a separate saucepan, make the bechamel sauce by melting 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

5. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute.

6. Slowly add in 1 cup of milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

7. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens.

8. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture, cubed bread, and shredded cheese.
