French Cream Puffs
Delicate, warm, and buttery cream puffs made with French choux pastry.
Ingredients
- β1/2 cup butterunsalted
- β1 cup all-purpose floursifted
- β1/4 cup grated cheeseoptional
- β4 large eggs
- β1 cup heavy creamchilled
- β2 tbsp granulated sugar
- β1/4 tsp salt
- βhomemade or store-bought French choux pastry

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.

Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a stand mixer and beat in the eggs one at a time.

Add the grated cheese (if using) and mix until combined.

Spoon the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large round tip.

Pipe small balls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the puffs to cool completely before filling with whipped cream.

To make the whipped cream, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
