Chinese Wonton Dumplings with Fenugreek
A traditional Chinese dish with a twist of fenugreek. Wonton wrappers are filled with a mixture of ground meat, fenugreek, and spices, then steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- β20-24 wrappers Wonton wrappersavailable in most Asian grocery stores
- β1 pound Ground porkcan be substituted with ground chicken or beef
- β1/4 cup Fenugreek leavesoptional, but adds a unique flavor
- β2 tablespoons Soy saucecan be adjusted to taste
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oilfor added flavor
- βto taste Saltoptional
- βto taste Pepperoptional
- βchopped, for garnish Scallionsoptional

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, fenugreek leaves, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

2. Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.

3. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

4. Press the edges together to seal the wonton. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

5. In a large pot or steamer basket, place a steamer insert with a layer of parchment paper. Arrange the wontons in a single layer, leaving space between each dumpling.

6. Steam the wontons over boiling water for 8-10 minutes, or until they are cooked through.

7. Serve the wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Garnish with chopped scallions, if desired.
