Flower-Shaped Hwajeon Dessert
A traditional Korean dessert, hwajeon, reimagined with a Mexican twist to create a sweet and delicate flower-shaped treat.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Korean flower-shaped hwajeon batterStore-bought or homemade
- β1/2 cup Velvety chocolateMelted
- β2 tbsp Sweet honeyRaw
- β1/4 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)Optional
- β1 cup Powdered sugarFor dusting
- β1/4 cup Fresh mint leavesFor garnish

1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. Prepare the hwajeon batter according to package instructions or recipe.

3. Using a cookie cutter, cut out flower shapes from the batter.

4. Place the flower shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

6. In a small bowl, mix together the melted chocolate and honey.

7. Remove the hwajeon flowers from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.

8. Dip the top of each flower into the chocolate-honey mixture.
