Slow Cooker Moroccan Lamb Tagine
A hearty and flavorful North African-inspired stew made with tender lamb and a blend of aromatic spices. Perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs lamb shouldercut into 2-inch pieces
- β2 tsp algerian spice blendstore-bought or homemade
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tbsp velvety tomato pasteoptional
- β1 tsp spicy harissaoptional
- β2 cups chicken brothlow-sodium
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor browning lamb
- β fresh parsleychopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Season the lamb with salt, black pepper, and Algerian spice blend.

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the lamb until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and add chopped onion to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

If using, add velvety tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add spicy harissa (if using) and cook for 1 minute.

Add chicken broth, browned lamb, and any accumulated juices to the pot. Bring to a simmer.

Transfer the pot to a slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
