Spicy Roast Pork
A classic German-inspired dish with a spicy twist, featuring tender roast pork and a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients
- ●2 lbs Pork shoulder
- ●2 tbsp Spicy mustard
- ●2 tbsp Brown sugar
- ●1 tsp Salt
- ●1 tsp Black pepper
- ●3 cloves Garlic
- ●2-3 medium Potatoes
- ●2-3 medium Carrots
- ●1 large Onions
- ●6 slices Bacon
- ●1 sausage Spicy sausage (optional)

Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).

Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and garlic.

Heat the bacon in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the pork shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.

Transfer the pork to a plate and set aside.

Add the sliced onions to the pot and cook until they're caramelized, about 10-12 minutes.

Add the sliced potatoes and carrots to the pot, stirring to combine with the onions.

Add the brown sugar and spicy mustard to the pot, stirring to combine.

Return the pork to the pot and cover with a lid.

Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and roast for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

If using sausage, add it to the pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Remove the pot from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
