Tender French Stew
A hearty French stew made with tender meat and a smoky twist. Perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef (tender)
- β6 slices Smoky bacon
- β1 large Onion (french)
- β2 Carrots
- β2 large Potatoes
- β2 tablespoons Peanut oil
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Red wine (french)
- β2 cups Beef broth
- β2 sprigs Thyme
Instructions

Heat the peanut oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the smoky bacon and cook until crispy, then remove and set aside.

Add the beef to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, then remove and set aside with the bacon.

Add the sliced onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Add the flour to the pot and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the red wine to the pot and cook until reduced by half, stirring to loosen any browned bits.

Add the beef broth to the pot and bring to a boil.

Return the beef and bacon to the pot, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 1/2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
