Uruguayan Empanadas with Silky Salsa
Delicious Uruguayan empanadas filled with beef and cheese, served with a silky salsa for dipping.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground beef
- β1 medium Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 package Empanada dough
- β1 cup Shredded cheese
- β Salsasee below
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in shredded cheese until melted.

Place a tablespoon or two of the beef mixture onto one half of each empanada dough circle.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape and press edges together to seal.

Place empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the empanadas are golden brown.

Meanwhile, heat the salsa in a small saucepan over low heat.
