Tagine Chicken with Toasted Nuts
A rich and flavorful North African-inspired dish made with chicken, toasted nuts, and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- β1 teaspoon ground cumin
- β1 teaspoon ground coriander
- β1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β1/4 cup toasted almonds
- β2 teaspoons tagine spice mix

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the toasted almonds and tagine spice mix. Cook for 1 minute.

Transfer the Dutch oven to the preheated oven and bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
