Traditional German Sauerkraut with Rerremen Sausage
A hearty German dish featuring richly flavored sauerkraut and rerremen sausage, perfect for a cold winter night.
Ingredients
- β1 pound, sliced Rerremen sausage
- β1 cup, drained Sauerkraut
- β1 medium, chopped Onion
- β1 teaspoon Caraway seeds
- β2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
- βto taste Black pepper
- βto taste Salt
- β4 slices, for serving Breadpreferably a crusty German bread

Brown the rerremen sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the caraway seeds to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.

Add the sauerkraut to the skillet and stir to combine with the onion and caraway seeds.

Add the apple cider vinegar to the skillet and stir to combine.

Return the rerremen sausage to the skillet and stir to combine with the sauerkraut mixture.
