Algerian Tagine Stew
A flavorful and aromatic stew originating from Algeria, made with beans and spices. This recipe is a simplified version of a traditional Algerian dish.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Dried White Beanssuch as cannellini or navy beans
- β2 tsp Algerian Spice Blendor a combination of cumin, coriander, and paprika
- β4 cups Quickly Cooked Chicken Broth
- β2 tbsp Aerated Olive Oil
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 medium Carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 medium Potatoespeeled and chopped
- β1 can Tomatoesdiced

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the Algerian spice blend and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the chicken broth, beans, carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
