Steamed Ochazuke with Japanese Fish
A simple and flavorful Japanese dish made with steamed rice and topped with fish and green tea broth.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Japanese rice
- β6 oz Fish (such as salmon or trout)preferably sashimi-grade
- β1 tsp Green tea
- β2 tsp Soy sauce
- β1 tsp Sesame oil
- β1/4 cup Green onionsthinly sliced
- β1 tsp Sesame seeds
- β1/4 cup Grated daikon (optional)

Rinse the Japanese rice thoroughly and cook according to the package instructions.

Meanwhile, prepare the green tea broth by steeping the green tea leaves in 2 cups of hot water.

Strain the green tea broth and mix with soy sauce and sesame oil.

Cut the fish into thin slices and set aside.

To serve, place a scoop of cooked Japanese rice in a bowl, followed by a few slices of fish.

Pour the green tea broth over the fish and rice, and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and grated daikon (if using).
