Spicy Korean-Style Braised Cabbage
A hearty, spicy Korean-inspired cabbage braise made with a velvety sauce and tender cabbage. Serve as a side dish or a light lunch.
Ingredients
- β1 medium head, cut into 2-inch wedges Cabbage
- β2 tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste) Koreanavailable at most Asian markets
- β2 tsp black pepper Peppery
- β2 cups beef broth Stew
- β2 tbsp soy sauce velvety
- β2 tbsp vegetable oil oiloptional

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

2. Add the cabbage to the pot, cut side down. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the edges start to brown.

3. Add the Gochujang, soy sauce, and beef broth to the pot. Stir to combine.

4. Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

5. Braise the cabbage for 20-25 minutes, or until it's tender and caramelized.

6. Remove the pot from the oven and season the cabbage with black pepper to taste.
