German Roasted Onion Hash
A classic German-inspired dish featuring roasted onions and crispy hash browns. Perfect as a side dish or main course.
Ingredients
- β2 large Onionany color works well
- β3 large Potato Russet or Idaho work well for hash browns
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor roasting onions
- βto taste Saltfor seasoning
- βto taste Pepperfor seasoning
Instructions

Preheat oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).

Peel and slice onions into thick rings. Separate into individual rings.

Toss onions with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.

Roast onions in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until caramelized and tender.

Grate potatoes using a box grater or food processor.

Squeeze out excess moisture from grated potatoes using a paper towel.

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add grated potatoes and cook until crispy, stirring occasionally.

Flatten cooked hash browns slightly using a spatula. Set aside.

To assemble, place a portion of roasted onions on a plate or in a bowl, followed by a portion of crispy hash browns.
