German Chicken Casserole
A delicious combination of German and Chinese flavors in a hearty casserole. This dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 lb chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β1 cup nutty riceuncooked
- β1/2 lb german sausagesuch as bratwurst
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 medium carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 tbsp soy sauceor to taste
- β1 tbsp oyster sauceoptional
- β1 cup casserole mixsuch as cream of mushroom soup

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the nutty rice according to package instructions.

Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the german sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped onion and carrots to the skillet and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using).

Add the cooked rice, chicken mixture, and casserole mix to the bowl. Stir until combined.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
