Algerian Tagine
Traditional Algerian dish made with chicken, spices, and dried fruits. This recipe is a hearty and flavorful stew that's perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 tablespoons algerian spice blenda mix of cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and ginger
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 cup dried pruneschopped
- β2 tablespoons honey
- β1 tablespoon cozy
- β2 cups taginechicken broth

Heat oil in a large tagine or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the spice blend, prunes, honey, cozy, and chicken broth. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
