German Beef Stew
A hearty, comforting beef stew made with tender beef and potatoes, served with a side of crusty bread.
Ingredients
- β1 lb BeefCut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 large PotatoesCut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 large OnionChopped
- β1 tsp Caraway seeds
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Black pepper
- β2 cups Beef broth
- β1 cup Red wine

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add more oil if necessary, then add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the caraway seeds, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the potatoes, beef broth, and red wine, and bring to a boil.

Return the beef to the pot, cover, and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
