Vietnamese Grilled Pork Buns
A classic Vietnamese dish featuring grilled pork served in a crispy bun with various toppings.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shoulder
- β4-6 vietnamese bun
- β1 package noodle wrapper
- β2-3 rest bun
- β1 tablespoon cha
- β4-6 meat wrapper
- β1/4 cup water
- β2 tablespoons fish sauce
- β2 tablespoons lime juice
- β1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions

In a small bowl, combine fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar. Stir well to combine.

Add the marinade to the pork shoulder and mix until the pork is well coated.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Remove the pork from the marinade and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145Β°F.

Once the pork is cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly.

Cut the Vietnamese bun in half and toast it lightly.

Assemble the buns by placing a few slices of the grilled pork onto the bun, followed by a spoonful of the noodle wrapper and a sprinkle of cha.

Note: You can also serve the grilled pork with a side of pickled carrots and daikon for added flavor and texture.

To make the pickled carrots and daikon, combine 1 cup of sliced carrots and daikon, 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before serving.
