Cook 8 oz fettuccine according to package directions until al dente.

In a large skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.

Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start browning.

Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Stir in heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Drain the cooked fettuccine and add it to the skillet with the mushroom sauce.
