Uruguayan Brussels Sprouts Pilaf
A flavorful Chinese-inspired pilaf dish featuring Uruguayan sprouts, perfect as a side or main course.
Ingredients
- β2 pounds Uruguayan Brussels SproutsTrimmed and halved
- β1 1/2 cups Uncooked white rice
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β2 cloves Lightly leached garlicMinced
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the halved Brussels sprouts and cook for 5 minutes, until they start to brown.

Add the uncooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the sprouts and garlic.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the rice is lightly toasted.

Add the soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 20-25 minutes, until the rice is cooked and the sprouts are tender.
