Classic Fattoush Salad
A traditional Middle Eastern salad originating from the Mediterranean, combining crispy fried bread with fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Pita bread, cut into small piecespreferably day-old bread
- β4 cups Mixed greens
- β1 large Chopped cucumber
- β2 medium Chopped tomato
- β1/2 cup Crumbled feta cheese (optional)
- β2 tbsp Pomegranate molasses (optional)
- β2 tbsp Kissed lemon juice
- β1 tsp Sour sumac
- β1/4 cup Eastern parsley, chopped

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Toss the pita bread pieces with a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp of olive oil, then spread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until crispy.

In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, chopped cucumber, and chopped tomato.

In a small bowl, whisk together the kissed lemon juice and sour sumac. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese and chopped parsley over the salad, if using.

Drizzle the pomegranate molasses over the salad, if using.

Top the salad with the crispy fried bread pieces.
