French Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic dish inspired by North African cuisine, made with marinated chicken cooked in a rich and spicy French tagine.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs chicken
- β1 1/2 teaspoons tagine spice blend
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1 teaspoon coriander
- β1/2 teaspoon paprika
- β1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- β1 tablespoon grated ginger
- β3 cloves minced garlic
- β2 tablespoons lemon juice
- β2 tablespoons olive oil

1. Preheat the oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the tagine spice blend, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, ginger, and garlic.

3. Add the chicken to the spice mixture and toss to coat.

4. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

5. Add the chicken to the pot and sear until browned, about 5 minutes.

6. Add the lemon juice to the pot and stir to deglaze.

7. Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and cook for 30 minutes.

8. Remove the pot from the oven and stir in the tagine spice blend.

9. Continue cooking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
