Spicy Korean Braised Cabbage Stew
A hearty, spicy stew made with tender Korean cabbage and a rich, savory sauce. Serve over rice for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β1 large head Korean cabbage (napa cabbage)
- β2 tablespoons Intense gochujang paste
- β2 cups, thinly sliced Cabbage
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β2 inches, peeled and grated Ginger
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- β1 tablespoon Brown sugar
- β1 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black pepper

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced cabbage and cook until it starts to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add the grated ginger and minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the gochujang paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add the sliced cabbage back into the pot and stir to coat with the sauce.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
