British Almond Fritters
A delicious and traditional British dessert, these fritters are filled with ground almonds and perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- β1 cup ground almonds
- β1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- β1 teaspoon baking powder
- β1/4 teaspoon salt
- β2 tablespoons sugar
- β1/2 cup buttermilk
- β2 large eggs
- β2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- β1 cup confectioners' sugar

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, whisk together the ground almonds, sugar, and eggs.

Add the flour mixture to the almond mixture and whisk until just combined.

Add the buttermilk and melted butter, and whisk until the batter is smooth.

Using a tablespoon, drop the batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.
